Garden maintenance zoning

The maintenance and restoration of the Templemere communal gardens is a large but very important undertaking. In view of this, the Gardens Sub Committee have been looking at ways to help the gardens provide the best possible service for all Templemere. Therefore a rota system of tending the gardens has been put into place.

The estate has been divided into four zones which are maintained Lance and his team at Horticarers on a rotational basis: Zone 1 is tended on the first Wednesday of each month, Zone 2 on the second Wednesday, and so on. When there are five Wednesdays in the month, the fifth is used to 'mop up' across the estate. In addition to the zone system all hard services including the pathways to each house up to the front door, all grass areas at the front entrance to the estate will be tended on a weekly basis.

ZONE 1 – Nos 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20

ZONE 2 – Nos 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32, 34, 36, 38, 40, 42, 44, 46, 48, 50, 52, 54

ZONE 3 – Nos 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, 57, 59, 61, 63, 65, 67

ZONE 4 – Nos 27, 29, 31, 33, 35, 37, 39, 41, 43, 45, 47, 49, 51, 53, 55, 56, 58, 60, 62

NB Private gardens are not included in the zones.

In the longer term it is also the Committee's intention to continue to return Templemere, as much as possible, to the original planting plans from 1965. The work will be carried out in addition to the weekly maintenance schedule . Your co-operation and patience will be appreciated during such times, as disruptions may occure and the gardens may appear unappealing during the early restoration period until new growth becomes established.
